NSS & IQAC of Smt. P.N Doshi Women’s College Ghatkopar organized Intercollegiate Quiz under ‘Azadi ka Amritmahotsava’ for teaching, non-teaching and students on the occasion of 75th Independence Day celebration on August 15, 2021. In the quiz 425 people participated and e- certificates were given on scoring 50% marks. The quiz is the third in series of IQAC & NSS collaboration for celebrating Azadi keAmritmahotsava program.


NSS celebrated 75thIndependence Day at college on August 15, 2021, by flag Hoisting. NSS Volunteers sung patriotic songs on the occasion.


On the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi birth anniversary on 2ndOctober2021 IQAC, NSS & Rotaract committees organized Intercollegiate quiz competition to celebrate non violence day. Total 670 students participated in the Quiz.


NSS unit organizes Capture your cleanliness moment to celebrate cleanliness drive by Government of India on the occasion of 2ndOctober 2021. NSS volunteers were asked to take up cleanliness activities in and around their building i.e play area, schools, parks, campuses, building compound etc. They had to write slogans on their T Shirts and shoot cleanliness videos and click pictures for the same. A complied video was prepared by NSS team and same has been forwarded to university unit -NSS.


NSS Committee organized National level webinar in collaboration with Tata Power and MHDACS on topic ‘Awareness regarding STDs with special reference to AIDS/HIV’ on October 16,2021.

NSS unit of SMT. P.N Doshi Women’s College in association with BMC -N Ward organized a one-day Free covid -19 vaccination camp for staff and students on October 30, 2021. Total 121 people received vaccines where 99 people took first dose and remaining took second dose.


NSS unit organized University orientation program for First year NSS volunteers on 23rd November 2021. Ms Renuka Prajapati NSS Ex ZO from MMP Shah College Matunga was invited as resource person. Total 280 NSS volunteers joined the meeting. The Orientation program was live streamed on official YouTube channel of Smt P.N Doshi College Account.

NSS unit organized a talk on constitution day on 26thNovember 2021. The objective of the program was to orient students about Indian constitution and Right to information. Mr Anil Galgali renowned RTI Activist was invited as resource person. The program was live streamed on official YouTube channel of Smt P.N Doshi College Account.

NSS Enrolment for the Academic year 2021-22 is completed and 286 students are enrolled in First year NSS.
NSS &NCC Units of Smt.P.N Doshi Women’s college organized a condolence meet to pay homage to Late General Bipin Rawat CDS& other Bravehearts of Armed forces on December 11. 2021.
NSS organized annual advisory committee meeting to discuss schedule and budget of NSS activities for the academic year 2021—22. Capt. Swaminathan and Shri Sandip Yadav from Somaiya college were invited as board members for advisory meeting on December 17,2021.
NSS organized A talk on ‘Consumer rights’ on the occasion of consumer rights day on December 23. 2021.Mr Sandeep Yadav was invited as resource person. The talk was live streamed on official YouTube channel of SPND.

On the occasion of National Youth Day and 158th birth anniversary of youth icon Swami Vivekananda, a webinar was organized on the topic “Swami Vivekananda: An Inspiration for Twenty First Century Youth'” on January 12, 2022 by IQAC, NSS and Smt. Devilaben Mehta Department of B. A. (Mass Media). The session was commenced by the Resource Person of the Webinar Mr. KamlakarIndulkar, Lecturer at Ramniranjan Jhunjhunwala College. Total 488 people participated in the webinar.


IQAC & NSS Organized 2nd free vaccination camp for under 18 students of Smt P.N Doshi college and for other college students on January 22, 2022. The camp was organized in collaboration with BMC -N Ward and VEER Foundation Mumbai. Total 300 students received 1st dose of covaxin vaccine.


IAQC, NSS & NCC celebrates National voter’s day on January 25,2022. National Voters Day is celebrated on 25 January to encourage the youth to participate in the festival of democracy -Election process. The main objective behind the celebration is to encourage, facilitate, and maximise enrolment, especially for new voters. A talk was organized on the occasion to orient young voters about the electoral process and also to motivate them to exercise their right to vote. Shri AvinashKoshti Tahsildar Ghatkopar (Encroachment &Removals) and Assistant Electoral Registration office 170, Ghatkopar Eat Legislative assembly was invited as resource person to conduct session with students. Total 198 participants registered for the talk. The speaker explained about the election process of enrolment, eligibility, websites, portals and helpline numbers available for voters to register and for grievances redressals. Apart from this the students were told the significance of casting vote which is their constitution right.

Vaccination drive
IQAC & NSS Units of Smt P.N Doshi Women’s College organized 3rdVaccination drive in collaboration with BMC N Ward on February 12, 2022. 230 doses of Covaxin were administered during the drive for the students and staff. The vaccination drive was organized in guidance of Dr Asha Menon Principal of College , NSS POs and NCC Officer. NSS Volunteers & NCC Cadets actively participated in organizing vaccination drive.


Tobacco addiction
NSS Unit of Smt. P.N Doshi Women’s College OrganizedTobaccoaddiction prevention workshop for non-teaching staff members in collaboration with TATA POWERS on February 22,2022. Shri Kapil Mandloi & Ms Sangita Wani were invited as resource person. During the workshop many activities were conducted which includes Talk, quiz & role play by NSS Volunteers,non-teaching staff members. The workshop was attended by 35 staff members and 25 NSS Volunteers.


Health week
NSS in association with Rotaract committee and in collaboration with Inner wheel club Ghatkopar celebrated health week from February 28 to March 3,2022. During the week healthsession, awareness talks and health check-ups for staff and students were organized. Reputed doctors were invited to deliver talks on various health issues like cosmetic gynaecology, sex education, dental issues. Health check- ups for students and teachers were also organized. Dental check-up. Anaemia detection, TSH, Glucose level were done by doctors and pathology staff.

NSS Unit celebrate International women’s day at college for all women staff teaching ( Jr Sr ) and non-teaching staff members on March 08, 2022. The NSS volunteers felicitated staff members with chocolates, flowers and hand made cards. The event was well appreciated by staff members.

Vaccination drive :IQAC & NSS ,NCC Units of Smt. P.N Doshi Women’s College organized series of Vaccination drive in collaboration with BMC N Ward on March12, 14 &16 , 2022. Around 500 doses of Covaxin and covishield were administered during the drive. The vaccination drive was organized in guidance of Dr Asha Menon Principal of College, NSS POs and NCC Officer. NSS Volunteers & NCC Cadets actively participated in organizing vaccination drive.

NSS Organized food distribution drive for needy students. This is done in collaboration with rotary club Gahtkopar on April 01, 2022. Total 171 students from degree and Junior college students received 1kg Daal& 1 Kg Rice. NSS accounts file for academic year 2021-22 is submitted to NSS unit university Juhu Mumbai.

Along with NCC unit ‘Shivswarajya Diwas’ was celebrated on June 6, 2022. The event was marked by stories of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj told by our Principal Dr. Asha Menon, followed by songs sung in glory of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj by Dr. Savita Chavan, Mr. Rajesh Sawant, Mr. Kakde. Dr. Madhumita Bandopadhyay, Head Department of History, gave information on Shivaji Maharaj's Coronation. The program was compered by Dr. Ved Prakash Dubey.

‘Worli Fort Cleaning Activity’ was conducted on June 7, 2022. 10 Students & NSS PO Mr. Anish Pillai participated in the activity. Mr. Uday Sawant (Minister of Technical and Higher Education), the Chief Guest for the activity, inaugurated the program. Street plays and street dance were also conducted. Around 10 bags of garbage were sent for recycling.

‘International Yoga Day Event’ was organized on June 21, 2022 on the theme of ‘Yoga for Humanity’. Principal Dr. Asha Menon, in her address, guided volunteers on the importance of Yoga. Ms. Bijalben Doshi, trustee and internationally recognized Yoga Expert, explained the origin and development of Yoga in India. She demonstrated a few asanas and certificates of participation were also distributed.

A ‘Tree plantation Drive’ was organized on July 12, 2022. 60 NSS volunteers (Jr and Sr) and 20 NCC cadets participated. 1500 trees were planted by the students on the hills near Mokhavane-Kasara with the help of Village Development Officer Mr. Pakale and Forest Officer Ms. Shinde. The plantation drive was coordinated by NSS Zonal Coordinator, Dr. Vinod Zalte and Ms. Rakesh Patil, a local volunteer from Kasara. The plantation drive was organized by Capt. Jyoti Madye, Ms. Sujata Garud and Mr. Anish Pillai.

‘Kargil Diwas’ was celebrated on July 26, 2022 in our college campus by NCC & NSS Units. Captain Swaminathan was invited to orient students about the sacrifice and gallantry of Indian Soldiers in Kargil War.

NSS Unit participated in the ‘Silent Peace Rally’ organized by ‘Bombay Sarvodaya Mandal’ on August 6, 2022. 40 NSS volunteers and NSS PO Sujata Garud attended this peace rally to promote peace and communal harmony amongst the citizens.

NSS Unit celebrated 10 days of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsava from August 8 to17, 2022. Activities like flag making, flag distribution, ‘Awareness Rally’ with the theme ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’, Rangoli making, ‘Cleanliness Drive’, flag hoisting, poster making were carried out.

Regional level orientation workshop for NSS Program Officers was organized on August 27, 2022 at our college. This program was organized by ‘Deputy Director of Education, Mumbai Region.A total of 75 NSS Program Officers from Mumbai, Thane, Palghar and Raigad participated. Shri. Sheshrao Badhe (Assistant Director of Education, Mumbai Region) was the Chief Guest. Shri Vinod Gaware (NSS Regional Coordinator, Mumbai Region) was also present.

‘Girgaon Beach Cleaning Activity’ was conducted on September 14, 2022. NSS Volunteers along with BMC Officers participated in the activity.

A ‘Poshan Ahar Lecture’ on Anemia was conducted on September 19, 2022 in our college by Dr. Manisha Parelkar who shared healthy recipes and information on Anemia.

‘An Orientation Program for StandardXI’ was conducted on September 29, 2022.

NSS cell organized a cleanliness drive for ‘Say No to Plastic’ on October 10, 2022 in the vicinity of college. The NSS Volunteers collected dry waste from streets, particularly near eating points. The waste was then deposited at BMC-N Ward Office, Ghatkopar.

NSS Volunteer Ms. Jasmine Khan participated in adventure camp at Manali in the month of October, 2022.

NSS Volunteer Ms. Snehal Panday is selected for 2 nd round of training in NRD Republic day parade at Ahmedabad from November 20-29, 2022.
