ADMISSION POLICY

Being a linguistic minority institution (Gujarati Language), 50% of the seats are reserved for gujarati speaking students.


JUNIOR COLLEGE

Students are admitted to the First Year Junior College (F.Y.J.C.) on consideration of merit as per the Government/ High Court order.


For students from other Boards such as I.C.S.E./ CBSC etc:
Students who have passed the I.C.S.E. or any other examination conducted by any statutory Board other than the Maharashtra State Board for Secondary Education must obtain an Eligibility Certificate from the Bombay Divisional Board Office, currently located at Jogelkarwadi Municipal Primary School Building, Sion, Mumbai - 400 022.


The Original School Leaving Certificate shall be retained by the College as a permanent record, while the Original S.S.C. mark-sheet shall be returned to the candidate after the Government admission centers are closed.


ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS :

  • Passing Std X examination from any recognised board (S.S.C., CBSE, ICSE) with English as a compulsory subject for admission to F.Y.J.C.
  • Only students scoring more than 100 marks (67%) in the subject Mathematics (sub code 71) in std X will be allowed to opt for Mathematics as an option in Science or Commerce stream.
  • Admission in S.Y.J.C. will be given in the same stream in which student has passed her F.Y.J.C.
  • The original certificates along with certified Copies of the following have to be submitted at the time of admission :
    - The Std. X Mark Sheet
    - The School Leaving Certificate
    - Ration card
    - Aadhar Card Xerox
    - The Migration Certificate, if from any Board other than Maharashtra. The student has to approach the college office for information regarding other documents.
  • Student has to complete minimum 75% of attendance in each term. Failing which student will not be allowed to appear for the annual exams / Board exams.

EXAMINATION RULES :

  • All students must secure minimum 35% marks for passing.
  • Science students must secure minimum 25% marks in the theory exams of Science subjects and Mathematics.
  • All students must appear for their Orals Practicals and must submit their Projects in time in order to pass.
  • All Arts and Commerce students will have two theory exams for each of their subjects - one in each semester of total 130 marks.
  • In all Arts and Commerce subjects, students will have two internal assessments, one project each for all subjects and orals for languages - for total 70 marks.
  • For Science and Home-science students, two Theory exams will be of total 120 marks; while the Internal assessments, projects, orals and practicals all together will be of 80 marks.
  • The total marks out of 200 will be divided by 2 to get the average and the result will be given in % age.
  • All Students will have to submit two projects in the subjects EVS - one in each semester and will have to appear for two PT theory exams - one in each semester. In both these subjects, students must get passing marks and the result of EVS will be included in the total marks and the result of PT will be given in grades. Students failing in any of these subjects will be declared Fail in FYJC and H.Sc. Board exams.
  • No re-exam-re-test will be taken for any scheduled test or exam. A prior written permission of the Principal is necessary in case of absence.

DEGREE COLLEGE

Admission Policy:
The Admission is strictly given on the basis of overall merit.

ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS :
Student should have passed in any one of the following:

  • Student should have passed in any one of the following
    -- H.S.C. from any recognised board from any faculty with English as a compulsory subject.
    -- or Diploma in Home Science for admission in B.A.
    -- or Diploma in Administrative Services for admission in B.Com II / BMS II
  • Original Certificates along with certified copies of the following have to be submitted at the time of admission:
    -- Certificate of the last examination passed.
    -- Mark Sheet
    -- College Leaving Certificate
    -- Migration Certificate, if from any board other than Maharashtra.
    -- Transfer Certificate, in case of students seeking admission from other colleges of the S.N.D.T. Women's University.
    (BCA : HSC from any recognized board with minimum of
    45% marks. )

POST GRADUATE STUDIES

Eligibility Conditions:

M. Com.
B.Com. degree from a recognized university.

M. A.
Graduates in psychology from SNDT / any other recognized university. Student should have competed 8 papers of 4 credits each, with at least one paper of practical of 4 credits at graduation.

SMT. K. B. BODA INSTITUTE OF ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES

Eligibility Conditions
1. S.S.C. or its equivalent.
2. The candidate must have at least 55% marks at the S.S.C. or any equivalent examination.
3. Only those students who have 50% and above in English are eligible to apply for this course
